The THERAFLEX MB-Plasma kit incorporates a dockable set suitable for both whole blood and
aphaeresis plasma. The process requires a simple dry set consisting of:
- a Plasmaflex filter (PLAS4) for leukoreduction, removal of residual red cells, platelets and aggregates
- a Methylene Blue pill (85μg anhydrous MB chloride)
- an illumination bag
- a Blueflex filter for Methylene Blue (MB) and photoproduct retention
- and a storage bag
The initial plasma volume range to be connected to the THERAFLEX MB-Plasma system is 235ml-330ml.
ZDV system
Configuration to treat high plasma volume ranges
• From 455ml up to 960ml
• Final products : 3 inactivated plasma units (207ml – 302ml)
• The filtration of big volumes of plasma (collected by aphaeresis) by the PLAS4 filter is the first step to be performed, using the BRV configuration, before splitting plasma big volumes into up to 3 units. Each of the 3 units will be connected to a ZDV System for plasma inactivation.
• Plasma loss during PLAS4 filtration is about 15mL
• Plasma volume range after leukodepletion and before illumination should be 220-315mL (to be connected to ZDV configurations)
• Inactivation is performed on each plasma units (220-315mL) using 2 or 3 ZDV configurations depending on aphaeresis plasma volume
• From a high aphaeresis plasma volume (> 675mL) you will get 3 methylene blue treated
therapeutic units with a minimum plasma volume of 207mL per unit
• From a volume of aphaeresis plasma (< 645mL) you will get 2 methylene blue treated
therapeutic units with a minimum plasma volume of 207mL per unit
BRV system
PLASMAFLEX Dockable leukodepletion filter (PLAS4)
Especially designed to leucoreduce high volumes of plasma collected from aphaeresis and to divide it into 3 therapeutic units; It is a dockable plasma system suitable to be used with ZDV system for plasma inactivation.
